Small Talk: Language Lessons

Au pairs and their host kids chat about sharing their language and culture!

Au pairs play such an important part in helping their host kids mature and grow—and one of the most important roles au pairs play is that of a teacher! Au pairs not only teach their host kids about their own food, customs, holidays and language but life lessons as well—for example, how to appreciate people’s differences and be open to other ways of doing, thinking and talking.

We recently spent some time with au pairs and their host kids to witness first-hand what American host children are learning from their au pairs, and watching little kids trying to count to ten in a different language and reveal their favorite foreign snack foods is simply adorable!

We invite you to listen in on some of the lessons au pairs are giving to their host children—you might even learn something new yourself!

Cultural Care Au Pair here! We believe that cultural exchange makes the world a better place – and so we’ve made it our life’s mission to help au pairs have enriching experiences in the USA. When we’re not helping au pairs travel, learn and grow in America, we’re probably eating candy from around the world and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
